Having held executive management positions in organizations such as pcOrder, JD Edwards, SAP, and Trilogy, the team understands the strengths and benefits of real-time enterprise applications, and can translate that knowledge into solid business opportunities.

Rod Favaron

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Rod Favaron serves as Chairman and CEO of Lombardi. Mr Favaron brings more than 22 years of experience with building technology businesses. As CEO, Mr. Favaron enables and oversees the company's global operations and long-term strategic direction.

Mr. Favaron has guided Lombardi from a seed stage start-up company into a global leader in BPM solutions over the past 7 years. Prior to joining Lombardi, Mr. Favaron has served as CEO with Mediaprise, Inc., a brand asset management software company; SVP Sales & Marketing for pcOrder.com, a pioneer in e-commerce software and Internet content services; and as General Manager at Mentor Graphics Corporation, responsible for Mentors IC design tools software division. Mr. Favaron began his career in engineering, sales and marketing roles with Texas Instruments.

Mr. Favaron earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Louisiana State University, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management. Mr. Favaron also serves on various non-profit boards in the Austin area.

Phil Gilbert

President

Phil Gilbert is Lombardi’s President and oversees the operational responsibility of its Global Business Solutions group. He was formerly Lombardi’s executive vice president of products and CTO. He brings more than 20 years of experience in technology start-ups plus 6 years in consulting and executive positions for non-technology businesses. Phil is responsible for Lombardi’s technical strategy and product delivery, with the Products Group reporting to him.

Phil has been awarded four patents in the area of distributed transaction management, has served on numerous industry committees and panels, and was a founding Board member of RosettaNet, serving until 2001. Phil graduated as a Pe-et (top ten) senior from the University of Oklahoma in 1978 with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree, with special emphasis in the Computer Sciences.

Greg Petersen

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Greg Petersen is Chief Financial Officer, responsible for building infrastructure, supporting the development and execution of the corporate strategic plan and overseeing all administrative functions.
 
Prior to joining Lombardi Software, Greg served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Activant Solutions, a provider of business management solutions to retail and wholesale distribution businesses, which was sold to a consortium of private equity investors. Greg has also held senior roles at Trilogy Software, RailTex and American Airlines.  
 
Greg serves on the Board of PROS Holdings (NYSE “PRO”), a world leader of pricing and revenue optimization software.  Greg has a BA in economics from Boston College and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Olivier Gachot

Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Olivier Gachot manages worldwide sales operations for Lombardi. Olivier Gachot has more than 20 years of sales, operations and management experience at global software and technology companies offering enterprise-level solutions.

Prior to joining Lombardi, Olivier was vice president, worldwide sales for Qlusters, a Palo Alto, Calif. provider of software to manage the Linux datacenter. He also held the position of senior vice president of sales and marketing at ePeople, a provider of customer interaction management solutions, was senior vice president, international operations for Actuate Corporation, and was president and chief executive officer for both Cosmosbay and Decalog. Olivier also held sales and sales management positions at Interleaf, Sybase and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Alan Godfrey

Executive Vice President and General Manager, European Operations

Alan Godfrey leads Lombardi’s European business unit. He has worked at Lombardi for five years and most recently was the company’s executive vice president of marketing and business development. He has more than 24 years of broad enterprise information technology experience, and has focused on scaling early-stage, technology software companies and application service providers for the past15 years.

Prior to joining Lombardi, Alan was a National Program Manager at BearingPoint where he successfully developed the business model and go-to-market strategy for an innovative Electronic Filing System for Federal and State Courts. In this role, he developed key distribution and technology relationships which drove Program acceptance and revenue.

Alan also served as an early stage executive in three technology companies where he drove sales, marketing, and business development initiatives. These efforts significantly contributed to the growth and revenue of the companies, and eventually lead to one acquisition, and two initial public offerings.

In the initial phase of Alan's career he held technical programming, systems engineering, business development, sales and marketing positions for IBM. He received a B.S. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University.

Toby Cappello

Vice President of Global Business Solutions

Toby Cappello is Vice President of Global Business Solutions for Lombardi, responsible for the company's customer/partner-facing services called Teamworks Enablement Practices (which include field services, customer support, enablement, training and certification). Toby has over 15 years in the technology industry focused primarily on customer success through process improvement and information technology strategy. Since joining Lombardi, Toby has had ownership over all of the company's successful customers and partners, driving the industry’s highest level of customer satisfaction and reference-ability.

Prior to joining Lombardi, Toby was a Principal with PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. (PwC), in their Strategic Change business unit, focused on Information Technology Alignment and Strategy. At PwC Toby was responsible for guiding the technology direction of Fortune 500 companies driving critical people, process and technology decisions. It is in this capacity that Toby learned the importance of process within an enterprise and the tremendous impact process improvement can facilitate within an organization. Toby received a B.B.A in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas.

Greg Pope

Vice President Global Accounts

Greg Pope is responsible for managing Lombardi’s Asia-Pacific business unit, as well the responsibilities of Executive Sponsor for Lombardi’s Global Customers. He successfully launched the European business unit in 2005, and prior to that he managed Lombardi’s US Sales Operations.

Prior to joining Lombardi, Greg was the senior vice president of field operations for iPhrase, where he successfully scaled the customer base from three to 20 customers within a year. Additionally, Greg served as the senior vice president of worldwide field operations for Open Market (now Divine, Inc.), a pioneer in e-business and content management software, where he managed a team responsible for growing the business to $100 million.

Previously, Greg has been responsible for worldwide sales, service, support and field operations of both hardware and software companies in North America, Europe, and Asia. His skills span a wide variety of emerging technologies including content management, enterprise solutions, supply chain and logistics software, and systems integration services.

Jim Rudden

Vice President of Global Marketing

Jim Rudden is the vice president of Global Marketing for Lombardi, responsible for all aspects of the company’s marketing efforts. Jim has been with Lombardi for over four years and most recently was Director of Product Marketing. He has more than 16 years experience of software marketing and implementation in the areas of business process management (BPM), business rules management (BRM) and enterprise middleware technologies. He has held positions in Product Management, Marketing, Consulting, and Sales at Trilogy Software, BetweenMarkets Software and other software companies. Jim holds a B.A. in American Studies from Stanford University.

Matt Howitt

Vice President of Product Engineering

Matt Howitt is the vice president of product engineering of Lombardi and is responsible for the technical delivery of Lombardi’s products and building the organization that can deliver on Lombardi’s product vision and roadmap. Matt has more than 10 years of experience leading and managing engineering organizations and more than 15 years of experience in the technology industry.

Matt is the former vice president of MessageOne, a technology company focused on business continuity and crisis communications. Matt was the first employee hired by MessageOne’s investors and was given the mandate to build an engineering organization that could deliver on the investors’ product vision. Matt helped specify MessageOne’s first two products, including MessageOne’s award-winning product for e-mail continuity, hired the team to build them and then owned their delivery to market.

Prior to MessageOne, Matt served as vice president of engineering at pcOrder, a pioneer in e-commerce software and services. Matt grew the engineering organization four-fold in his tenure and was pcOrder’s engineering executive when the company went public in 1999. Matt graduated with honors from Harvard University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and also completed extensive coursework in computer science.

Damion Heredia

Vice President of Product Management

As Vice President of Product Management, Damion oversees the teams responsible for the strategy and design of Lombardi's enterprise and hosted products. Since joining Lombardi in 2002, Damion has led the company through several major releases of Lombardi's flagship product, Teamworks, and through three new product introductions. Damion is a member of the Object Management Group (OMG) and a co-author of the Business Process Management Notion (BPMN) standard.

Prior to joining Lombardi, Damion worked for Austin-based Trilogy Software in Product Management and Pre-Sales, where he was responsible for the management and technical sales of enterprise software solutions for large computer and communication equipment manufacturers.

Damion received his degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University.

Carol Howard

Vice President of Human Resources

Carol Howard is Vice President of Human Resources for Lombardi, with more than 15 years of experience in human resources. She specializes in developing strategic and tactical plans, aligning HR activities to business goals for maximum impact and guiding leaders in organizational change.

Prior to joining Lombardi Software, Carol served as Director of Human Resources for Abbott Spine, a medical device division of Abbott Laboratories. Carol has a BS in Healthcare Administration from Texas State University, a MBA and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Ethics both from St. Edward's University.

Gordon Gaenzle

Vice President of Professional Services

Gordon Gaenzle is Vice President of Professional Services for Lombardi, with more than 22 years of experience in delivering software services. Most recently he has specialized in developing and delivering agile services for customization and support of mission-critical software platforms.

Prior to joining Lombardi Software, Gordon managed services within a variety of organizations including Accenture, Trilogy Software, Inc. and Digital Motorworks, Inc. (an ADP company). Gordon has a BS in Computer Science and MS in Accounting from Texas A&M University.

Matt Dussling

Vice President of Sales, Eastern Region

Matt Dussling is Vice President of Sales for the Eastern Region for Lombardi. With more than 17 years of experience in sales and sales management, Matt specializes in scaling early-stage, enterprise software and solution technology companies. He has been with Lombardi since 2003.

Prior to joining Lombardi, Matt was Director of Central Region Sales at iPhrase (acquired by IBM). Prior to iPhrase, Matt was in enterprise sales with pcOrder, a pioneer in e-commerce software. Matt also founded an international sales company, QuadTek, and took annual revenues from $0 to over $10M in under three years. Matt has a BA in Economics from Trinity University.

Scott Hughes

Vice President of Sales, Western Region

Scott Hughes is Vice President of Sales for the Western Region for Lombardi. He has worked with Lombardi for five years and has over fifteen years experience in software sales in the content management and business process management markets.

Prior to joining Lombardi, Scott was Director of North America Sales at Encentuate (acquired by IBM) where he launched U.S. Sales Operations and drove go-to-market strategy and early customer adoption. Scott also spent five years at Interwoven, where he led and grew the first Western U.S. Sales Region that was responsible for 25% of global revenue. Scott holds a BS in Business from SJSU.

Ron Martin

Vice President of Federal Operations

Ron Martin is Vice President of Federal Operations for Lombardi. Ron is focused on Lombardi’s growing public sector presence and is responsible for all of the company’s public sector personnel.

Ron brings a wealth of public sector experience to Lombardi – with over 20 years of software experience focused on civilian, intelligence and state and local markets in the US and throughout the world. He has also held management and sales positions in the public and private sectors at Savvion, Initiate, Oracle Corporation and Software AG. Ron has a B.S. degree from Grande Valley State University.

Charles L. “Chip” Davis

Managing Director and Head of Technology Group, Sanders Morris Harris

Charles L. Davis is a General Partner of SMH Private Equity Group. Chip joined Sanders Morris Harris in 1991 and specializes in investing of software companies and networking equipment and service providers. Mr. Davis is currently a board member or board observer of several companies including: Wayport, Syntex Management Systems, RigNet, World Telemetry, CPO Commerce, and Lombardi Software and previously worked with such companies as InfoCure, Tyler Technologies, IndX Software, and Baseball Express.

Mr. Davis is a graduate of Washington & Lee University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

John Thornton

General Partner, Austin Ventures

John Thornton joined Austin Ventures in 1991, and focuses on Software investing. Previously, John was with McKinsey & Co., where he served clients in the U.S. and Europe. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and his BA summa cum laude from Trinity University, where he graduated first in his class.

John is a founding board member of the Austin Entrepreneur's Foundation and a trustee of Trinity University. John has worked with companies such as Active Power, Active.com Altra Energy, Covasoft, DAZEL, Ignite Sports Media, Lane15 Software, Metasolv, Mission Critical, Motive, Pentasafe, SoloMio, Vignette, Waveset, Zilliant.

Jim Gauer

General Partner, Palomar Ventures

Jim Gauer co-founded Palomar Ventures where he combines a strong technical and management background with a solid record as an investment professional.

Prior to forming Palomar Ventures, Jim led early-stage information technology investments for Enterprise Partners Venture Capital. He has led investments in such market leaders as Active Software (now webMethods), Efficient Networks, Isocor, Rendition (now Micron), and XLNT Designs (now Intel). He currently serves on the board of webMethods (NASDAQ: WEBM)-and 8 private companies. Jim holds a BA in mathematics from UCLA and was a PhD Candidate in Mathematics and Philosophy at Johns Hopkins University.

H. Ronald Nash

Partner, InterWest Partners

Mr. Nash is an entrepreneur in the technology industry where he has successfully developed several companies. He is currently a member of InterWest Partners, a technology venture capital partnership with practices in information technology and life sciences. He serves as a Partner in the Dallas office for InterWest and is a member of the Board of Directors for Lombardi Software, NovusEdge, Pivot3, Resolution EBS and Vendavo.

Mr. Nash has led large firms as well as small ones. He had successful tenures at Perot Systems where he was a senior vice-president and at EDS earlier in his career. He has previously served as president of three smaller firms, Advanced Telemarketing, Teleci and Rubicon, all of which became publicly held entities. His career includes in-depth business experience abroad with a two-year assignment leading the European division of Perot Systems while living in London, England.
